Feel free to leave me a comment so that I can check out your closet too. :) I collect military items WWI to 1980s US and then Other countries items from pretty much any time period but mostly looking for British stuff up to 1990s. I also collect GI Joe both big and small and other action figures.

brandonjh30 @doublesouthern this was my British uniform I picked up I decided for Halloween last year (each year I try to represent a different soldier) it's British 1980s to early 1990s. So the soldier I represented here is a paratrooper who fought in the Falklands.

doublesouthern Amazing! I was a tv reporter once. Has anyone done a story on your collection? Someone should! i had found the tombstone for William but wanted to run the name of his wife by to my Mom to verify. Would it help to know his rank also? She was going to try to call his nephew. I have it wrapped up. are there any magazines or anything you would like from here from a newsstand? I mail from B.H. post office but when unable to make it there by Five P.M. I drop off at a center that has a news stand.

brandonjh30 @doublesouthern yes any information no matter how insignificant helps me out. I still gotta print off that stuff I've gotten behind. That would be cool to do a military uniform. I would just make sure it's not a new issued uniform and that it doesn't have any medals or ribbons of pins on it. Usually I do a pre 1990s so nothing digital camo. Also I'm known in the community by most the customers where I work that I'm a huge military enthusiast and collector.

There is one other collector who does a lot more then I and I think he has been in the news (once a year on Veterans Day he sets up his collection about 300-500 pieces and I've helped to display for the whole town to see). But I do ok and enough people know I'm a collector.

brandonjh30 @doublesouthern also for me in my case I try to make it authentic as possible try to shave (not something you have to do lol) but just make sure that you have the correct gear to go with the uniform if you need help email me. Ind I usually go for Nondress uniforms usually the field uniforms are pretty safe like isaid nothing modern (don't want to make any Veterans upset). World War and 1980 are pretty safe (1980 is the Woodland uniform)

g_sowers Glad you like the wings. I saw that you’re a collector and was hoping you’d be able to tell me what they were worth. I’ve had them since I was a kid and don’t remember where I got them. I had a uncle in the army and navy during Vietnam. My guess is one of them gave them to me.

brandonjh30 @g_sowers it said Sterling on the back. So far here is what I gather about the wings. They are US Army probably around 60s. Its a Army Aviation aircraft crewman badge.

To receive the Army Aircrew Badge the recipient must be on a flying status as a crew member in a specified position or a non-crewmember as an observer, medical aidmen, gunner, aircraft maintenance , or technical inspectors.

I have Everything From, Old School Desert Camo, to the Digi ACU, UCP. 🤢😂. To Rhodesian "Brush Stroke" and Vintage Tiger Stripe from Nam. NOT REMAKES. VINTAGE, SEEN ACTION! Dad did 2 Tours as a LRRP in Nam. All SF guys got Tiger Stripes. Or they chose plain OD. Olive Drab.
