bagsquare Thanks for your purchase of the Frye Melissa Satchel! Like I said in the listing I used the bag but the strap was stored. I’m sure if you choose to use it it will darken with the bag. I tucked the strap in the inside zipper compartment, I just didn’t want you to think it’s missing. I hope you love your new bag! Audra
