My Grandson, Rowdy, is 5 years old and is terminal. 😢 He has a lot of medical conditions brain atrophy being one of many. Even though he can’t walk or talk he is the happiest little boy ever. We have a beautiful one on our wall in our living room but I have been wanting one on the wood wall in our Grandkids’ bedroom at our house and maybe the other one on our bedroom wall unless my daughter insists on having one. It really means a lot! Rowdy had a awful seizure yesterday and is super sick right now so we need all the prayers and positive energy to get him through this. Thank you again!! ❤️

@mindypnw yes she was, hung on for 6 years, she was a single mom of 3 boys, I raised the. Since she was diagnosed in 2013, they are now 22/19 and 13, life just sucks sometimes, no cliches from me, lol, hang on

@tredevrj1122 I was wondering if she had any children. Wow! 3 boys🥺 I’m sure it’s been so tough for them too. That’s wonderful they have such a amazing Grandma!! They are blessed to have you!! ❤️ I can’t imagine the pain of watching your daughter get worse and worse. That’s the part I don’t know if I can handle. Rowdy is suppose to get worse and worse until he crosses over. Life does truly suck sometimes!😢 We have a lot going on in our family right now.

Our son Kyran who is 28 well he is my stepson who we have had custody of since he was 4 years old was in a car accident last year where he was drinking and driving and killed his friend. 😢 Him and his girlfriend and our 2 year old grandson went to visit his biological mom in Cape Coral Florida which I seen that’s where you live and that’s where it happened. (Small world)

@tredevrj1122 I don’t mind you asking me anything.😊 My daughter, Rowdy’s mom came up with the list by what we know he enjoys doing. Rowdy isn’t able to walk or talk but he definitely shows us what he enjoys doing by his actions and reactions. He was gifted a camper by Make a Wish Foundation which is so appreciated. We haven’t been able to use it yet which bums us out. He loves going places and being around and watching people. He also loves playing with and being in water.

Our plan is to take him to place we know he would enjoy. We wanted to do that this summer but m daughter and I need to learn to tow it. My daughter is separated from her husband and he lives in Idaho. So we help Jessica out with the kids. We get to spend a lot of time with them which makes us so happy!! 😃

So sorry about the things he & your family are going through. I also have a 4 year old grandson that has seizures. He isn’t terminal, just something he has. Praying for you & your family. @mindypnw Oh! I’m sorry…I didn’t clarify…I realized he wasn’t “special needs” in the same manner is my work field. I just tend to notice the adaptive items people use. I did read about the brain atrophy, though I wasn’t familiar with what exactly it entailed. Such a precious little guy, with that smile. And thank you for saying I’m sweet. I’m happy he & your daughter has you to help along the way. 😊

@rockinfrocks413 Kimberly, you are so sweet and so caring. I really appreciate you asking. He is doing good at the moment. He had 2 very scary seizures recently where he stopped breathing for a short time and his emergency seizure meds did not stop the seizures. 😞
He is progressive and terminal and is slowly getting worse which is heart breaking. My daughter and I took Rowdy and my Granddaughter Rowdy’s big sister, Paisley to the beach for the weekend and we had a wonderful time.😃

@mindypnw I agree, we will find out all things when we get back home 🏡 to Him, we lost our son almost 3 whole years ago, He nonetheless remembers all the things that happen in our lives, including the suffering endured for His sake. In fact, there are many instances in Scripture of God’s recognition of man’s suffering. God is a tender-hearted Father to us, a God who feels with us and weeps with us (Exodus 3:7; John 11:33–35). 🙌

@bezdeezzz yes, we need to turn to Jesus more then we do. I pray a lot but I feel the need to start going to church again. Rowdy is in the Hospital now. He didn’t feel good yesterday and started running a fever when we took him swimming, which is one of his favorite things to do.

@bezdeezzz He ended up having a 40 minute seizure at 4:00am. It’s so scary and such a helpless feeling when he has seizures. My daughter handles it so much better then I do. She is so strong but she lost her husband,Rowdy’s Dad to suicide in March. She is really struggling. We are all still grieving and don’t understand why? Suicide is such a awful thing!! 😢Thank you again for all your love! ❤️

5 year old twin boys would be a lot of fun! I’m sure they keep you busy! 😊 Rowdy is such a sweet boy and I love him so much! I really don’t know if I’m strong enough to loose him. We lost his dad to suicide in March and there isn’t a day that goes by that my heart doesn’t hurt. Suicide is such a tragic life changing thing! My daughter and Granddaughter are hurting so much. Rowdy doesn’t understand.

Your family is beautiful. I am so sorry about your grandson. I can't know what that's like but I do kinda understand. My best friend (our mom's have been best friends since the 70s, his parents are my godparents & vice versa - they were pregnant together I was 2 months & 5 days older - so pretty much closer than my actual lil' bro) he got cancer when we were like 9 & it came back at 11 & they tried but it was obv at a point that it was terminal.

We lost him at 15. I kinda can empathize even tho it's not the same but it's still too young. I lost my other two bffs too young - 26 to a heart issue & 34 I'm a car crash. I'm not sure if it's worse to know or to be shocked by it. Anyway, your family is beautiful & I know you'll all cherish every second you have w/him & bring him so much joy! He knows how loved he is & that's IMO what matters. My ❤️ (& positive vibes 💕💕💕💕💕) goes out to you all! 🌞

My daughters husband which is Rowdy’s dad committed suicide in March. It’s been so hard. We are still grieving. We don’t know how long we have with Rowdy so we cherish every moment and are making lots of memories with him. The thought of loosing him is too much! 😢 I love him soooo much!

You have had a difficult time too. I know we are suppose to learn and grow through difficult times but I really wish it wasn’t possible for kids to suffer in any way. My daughter is and has gone through so much.
It breaks my heart to see her and my 6 years old granddaughter hurting. Rowdy doesn’t understand why he hasn’t seen his dad in 6 months. How old is your little boy?

@mindypnw our son together is about to turn 11. He’s taken it well. But my middle child (his stepson and the one that had the benign tumor) has not handled it well at all. Between the surgeries, my husband walking out, and stress of the tumor, he’s having coping issues. He’s 15 and oh so moody. He’s flunking 9th grade. He just has no care to do better. I think out of all 3 kids, he’s taking everything the worst.

About the slippers they have a yarn sole and the tops of the slippers folded over they weren’t really tall. I’m not picky about the style of them. Blue or green would be good for the guys and mine can be any color. Whatever yarn you have the most of will work. 😊 Thank you so much!! ❤️

It wasn’t a prolonged illness and can’t imagine what you must be going through. Please, know you’re not alone. There are great support systems out there.. and even on Poshmark. We now have 6 because my grandog Penny, got to move back home now that my daughter bought a house. We ended up with 6 dogs because my sons dog ended up turning in to our dog. When he left home she stayed.

@sopranoduck Then we ended up with our daughters male dog and they had puppies and we got so attached to all of them. We planned to find them all really good homes but we couldn’t let them go. We were so worried about them going to a bad home. We love them all so much!❤️ I grew up with a yellow nape parrot, Mr. Green. He was so smart and so much fun!

I want more - almost took in a neighborhood dog that wasn’t being taken care of properly and kept getting loose. But then someone took her to a shelter locally and I can’t find her. @sopranoduck I have always said if my husband and I ever win the lottery that I would buy a big piece of land and open a big dog sanctuary. Where the dogs in need of a forever home can stay there happy and healthy until their forever family finds them.
That’s how it should be, they should all be able to run around and have a cozy sleep and rest area for each of them. A big diverse staff so they get all the health care, training, love and attention they all need and deserve. ❤️

I am sorry about your grandson. I lost my son a few years back to a brutal terminal illness. We did his bucket list also. Terminal children seem to be the happiest kids! He is beautiful. @sharonp444 My daughter,granddaughter Rowdy and myself went to the beach a couple weeks ago and Rowdy started breathing weird during the night. My daughter and I tried waking him up and he wouldn’t wake up no matter what we did. He was completely non responsive so we called 911 and the paramedics couldn’t get him to respond either so he was taken to the closest Hospital and they were eventually able to get him to respond. It was the most terrifying thing I have been through.

@sharonp444 The Doctors think he might of been having a seizure that we didn’t wake up for. He has lost some more strength since then but we are praying with all his physical therapy he will gain some back. He has to have hip surgery on both hips soon. 😢 I wish they didn’t have to do it but they said they could easily break in the position they are in now. So they have to cut both hip bones and Rowdy will be in a full body cast for several weeks. 😢

I wrote you this long post about my Jordan but they wouldn't post it. said it was too long. lol. Anyways, briefly, Jordan had surgery after surgery and I feel that was just wasted time and suffering for him. NOT THAT YOU SHOULDN'T DO THIS!! Since there was no cure, why put him thru more. Jordan made that decision himself as he did when he decided to die at home. THAT was the most heartbreaking time in my life. I have to run now but will post later. In shorter paragraphs haha

I really don’t want Rowdy to have to go through any more surgeries. He has been through too much already. We just found out last night that he will probably have to get his tonsils out. They are touching each other. 😢

@colmtip Hi Collette, yes, my Grandson, Rowdy, is still with us. My daughter and I are still doing all of Rowdy’s favorite things and going places we know he would enjoy. He will be 6 years old in August and he is truly the happiest little boy you could ever meet. The only time he isn’t happy is when he is feeling miserable.

@colmtip He has seizures whenever he gets fevers. His brain atrophy is progressing and it’s hard for me to believe there is nothing that can stop it. The Doctors give us no hope but I’m still praying for a miracle. I can’t imagine what life would be like without my Grandson. We have such a strong bond and I don’t know if I’m strong enough to go through that. We lost his Dad, my son in law to suicide last March. It’s been so painful and we are still grieving. 😢

@colmtip thank you so much. We appreciate all the prayers we can get. Rowdy has never been able to talk but he communicates with us other ways. Unfortunately he can’t just say where he wants to go but It’s definitely obvious when he is having a good time so we have been able to figure out what he likes doing best and that’s how we have been choosing his bucket list. His favorite thing to do is playing in the water. We take him swimming as often as we can.

@colmtip My daughter and grandkids had to move to Idaho because housing is too expensive here in Washington. So it’s been so difficult not being able to spend time with them everyday. I go and spend a month at a time there and every time I have to leave we are all in tears. Rowdy has to have a intense hip surgery on both hips soon. They have to cut both hips and he will be in a body cast for weeks. I’m so worried he isn’t strong enough for the surgery and I just hate he has to have the surgery.

Your dogs had to be the happiest they have ever been when you got to go home and be with them again. @dixiegirl46 Thank you so much Dixie girl! I appreciate all the prayers we can get for Rowdy! Watching him slowly get worse and worse and not being able to do anything to stop the progression is pure torture! Rowdy is truly the sweetest,bravest,happiest and most adorable little boy you can ever meet! I have such a strong bond with him and love him so much so the thought of loosing him is too much! 😢
