Meet your Posher, Miranda

For 15 years I owned a luxury tailored clothing store in Toronto offering impeccable service. I was encouraging my clients to get their clothing mended (complementary), to donate ethically and locally (vs dumping at Goodwill) well before I knew anything about DeGrowth. I closed my store July 2019 with plans to open a smaller retail operation at the end of 2020. But then, y'know. So I started a podcast called Behind the Bricks and Mortar (with Miranda Black) and learned everything I could about the current state of retail, the state of consuming and purging and the concept of "sustainable clothing". After a tonne of research I came to 2 conclusions: 1. I do not want to work for a landowner. Rent in Toronto is out of control and the only people really making money are the ones who own their building. 2. I no longer believe in NEW clothing. There's enough clothing on this planet to clothe every single human for the next 25 years...or more. But I do believe in style and I adore helping people find that special piece. Or afford to buy an aspirational brand that was preowned in amazing condition. Anyone who knows me from Theodore 1922 (my former store) knows I am a fabric junkie and a research maniac. Clothing tells stories of our lives and there's more out there than I will ever know (like how some people want to read all the books in the world lol). I'm experimenting with PM to figure out how to sell in the new Era of Loneliness...hem, I mean Digital Age. Join me ;)
