miamarie2013 Hi! Confused by your rating? The bag is absolutely authentic.

ncg813 @miamarie2013 I took it to my local Louis Vuitton store for repairs and I was told that the bag is not authentic. I was crushed because I love that style so much and I’ve been wanting one for a very long time.

miamarie2013 @ncg813 I am very sorry to hear that someone told you that. My mom bought it at Saks in the 1970s. During that time, the demand for LV was very high in the US, so the French Company made bags for the US market. Maybe the person who told you that was unaware? If you google French Company LV, you’ll see the history on it ☺️. I pride myself on owning and selling quality and authentic items and had a perfect 5.0 rating with 72 reviews (now 4.9 which is bothering me lol). I promise it’s legit.

miamarie2013 Also, there are some other identical bags on Posh also made by the French Co. if that helps ease your mind. I can tag you in some - just let me know. I am always wary of buying designer items on Posh, and I want to assure you that you’ve got the real thing.

ncg813 @miamarie2013. I just wanted to restore it back to its original beauty but Louis Vuitton won’t do the work since they said it is not authentic. I don’t know what to do with it now

miamarie2013 I’m going to look up if LV will repair French Company era bags because that is nonsense! There are definitely third party companies that will do it.

miamarie2013 Absolutely!! Ok here is what I found on Reddit. Same thing happened to someone else. “When my bucket needed some repair done, I took it to an LV store. Sure enough, the people humiliated me by saying it's a fake. I asked to see the manager. She too said she's never seen it. I told her to contact the most senior person they had and ask about "The French Company". I told her I would wait in the sitting area until someone who is knowledgeable would attest that my bag is REAL.

miamarie2013 “Of course, I was very confident. I knew somewhere, somehow, someone knew about the history of the bag. And so I waited for about 45 minutes and BAM!!! Of course, someone knew what I was talking about. Not only that they apologized to me profusely, they gave me a small item of my choice. They offered to repair the handles but it wouldn't match the rest of the bag because they don't have the proper leather.”

miamarie2013 “And still they offered to replace the entire leather part of the bag but I refused because it wouldn't be the same anymore. Anyway, these are a collectors items and very hard to find. People who do not know the value of these beautiful unique LV's...”

miamarie2013 If you want it to be repaired at LV, I would try once more and ask to speak to someone who knows the history - maybe ask to speak with a manager. I worked at Chanel, and I know how some of my coworkers could be snobby at times. It sounds like this woman decided to not have hers repaired but was ultimately given the option once someone figured out that it was authentic.

miamarie2013 Okay last thing - if LV no longer repairs French Co bags, I would take it to a professional leather repair place. Yelp says “Luggage Service” and “Lee’s Shoe Repair” have good ratings. Hope that helps 💕
