Paul - I just sold the donkey jacket on eBay. apologies. Was just about to take it down when you commented and I wanted to let you know before I de listed. I see one of your fave brands is Fred Perry - I’m a fan too. By the way - the Ben Sherman Donkey is nice quality but not really one for purists!

@marqgerard Its like the old wool sun yet seen jackets in china. They got the original pattern from Russia. Perfect for Siberian afternoons. The trouble In China few believe in reselling.. In the countryside there are old clothes shacks . Yeah cool stuff Bruv. Takes me back to my picture as a 17 year old boot boy.

@aizaiwa888 I bought a rag and bone jacket reminded me of Cultural Rev look Mao style! Didn’t know that about China - very interesting! Been there a few times for biz but never explored the art-music-fashion-scene sadly

@marqgerard I lived in jilin and liaoning provinces for about 3 years. Those dirty shops owned by old people we're treasures in my opinion. I still have my black wool coat from the Russian exchange with china. The northeastern ushanka are really cool as are the Xinjiang hats.

@marqgerard And Manchester is a cool place as so much of the uk is. I have west Indian brothers from Brixton. Use to tell me about the tailors in the 60s.Introduced me to all the great music and food.Un le Lee told me about churchs benchmade back in 1991.

@aizaiwa888 ha so cool - one of my best friends was from Dominica, and grew up in Brixton - he died a few years ago after a hip replacement op! Went to Notting hill carnival a few times. Food is great....jerk - yum!

Jerk has soo much to it. The palmetto spices and the wood from palmetto trees. Scotch bonnet, fresh thyme. Between music and food humanity can connect again. Just my humble thoughts.

@aizaiwa888 I didn’t know all that about jerk. I used to go to a place inEast PaloAlto called Backyard, had the best Jerk - it was so popular - sometimes wait was more than an hour but peeps loved it!

@marqgerard My mistake.... Its pimento that makes jerk... Not palmetto.... A fool day...That's me.lol. The food,culture, music .It lends to taste and style.Jerk with fried rice is perfect. just as curry fried chicken.

I use to wear fred perry back in the early 90s. Had to money exchanged and post it to England. Same as ben Sherman. In my opinion ben Sherman is not the at all.Quality and style I feel took backseat.

I feel old skool FP was especially good quality. I prefer FP’s button down shirts to his Polo’s but that’s just because how they look on me.
