dani102373 Thank you for purchasing my Herend platter. I just wanted to let you know that I shipped it this morning, paid for extra weight, and had them put fragile stickers on the box. I normally wrap my items in tissue paper and ribbons, but I was much more concerned with it arriving in one piece. It won’t look pretty and u will probably need a pair of scissors to cut thru all the bubble wrap. I’m hoping it arrives before Thanksgiving!

dani102373 @jrogersm Yes, I have four 7 piece place settings and 2 vegetable servers NWT. They each include 1 dinner plate RO-12, 2 soup plates RO-5, 1 dessert plate RO-3 (this is bigger than the other one and can be used for salad), 1 Dessert plate RO-6, 1 teacup RO-3, 1 saucer RO-8. Please don’t hesitate to ask questions.

dani102373 I created a listing in my closet with the photos. I can only include 16 photos per listing, so I could not photograph each piece individually. I will add one complete photo of the entire set as soon as I get my husband to carry them upstairs. There would normally be an added weight charge for shipping, but Poshmark is doing a free shipping promotion right now. If you decide you want them, make the offer and I’ll accept.

dani102373 @jrogersm What a relief! I’ve never shipped China and I was terrified it might break. I need to contact Poshmark about separating your shipment into two packages as I think it might be too heavy in one. I plan on shipping it tomorrow after I buy more bubble wrap. I’m going to ask the UPS store for advice on shipping it safely.

jrogersm that curled piece you had around the edge of the platter seemed like a great idea; I've never seen that before. I think it would've worked best under the bubble wrap. I'm sure shipping all the other pieces together will definitely be too much; hopefully either Posh or UPS will have good advice about it. No rush on my end if it takes a bit to sort out, don't worry about it. Thanks!!

dani102373 @jrogersm that curled piece came from something else I had bought from Arhaus. It seemed meant to be. There is an issue with the China. I thought all the plates, bowls, etc were all the same, but four are one pattern and four are another. They are all the Rothschild bird pattern, but a different variation. Is this ok?

dani102373 It’s like how all the pieces have a slightly different picture of the birds in the photos that I posted except two dinner plates are one version and the other two dinner plates are another.

dani102373 @jrogersm Thank you for understanding. The box weighs 20lbs and the extra weight option only goes up to 10lbs for $22. I contacted customer support to find out how to pay for the extra shipping or get approved for two 10lb labels. I don’t mind paying for the extra shipping as I want to ensure every piece arrives intact. I haven’t heard back yet, but I’ll ship it as soon as I do.

dani102373 I finally heard back from customer support. They suggested I cancel the order and re-list it as four separate listings. I looked into shipping a 20lb box from Ohio to California and it’s $100+. If I list this as 4 listings, I would list each at the discounted price and include free shipping. You just can’t bundle them or we will be back to square one. I also think packaging them into four boxes would be safer than one. Let me know if u r ok with this. Thanks

Since shipping 4 boxes will cost me at least $60, do you mind paying the $7.95 shipping on the second two sets and I’ll pay the extra $10 per box? dani102373 @jrogersm Is the issue with Poshmark or your credit card company? If it’s Poshmark, the only way to contact them is via email. I assumed your credit card flagged your purchase as fraud since you made two identical purchases. I can change the last two so they aren’t identical.

jrogersm Herend is pretty special in my family for several reasons, and I have a fair number of the fishnet patterned figurines from over the years. My husband's youngest brother gave us some pieces of the Rothschild pattern years ago. He died pretty tragically a few years back, and somehow finishing the set and using it seems like a nice touchstone.

I received all my Herend pieces as a gift, but I have three other complete sets of China/porcelain so it seemed a waste to keep something so beautiful boxed up in storage. I might be able to get another two place settings if you need more. My friend also go this as a gift and I don’t think she uses it. I won’t ask unless you want them.

dani102373 @jrogersm lol. My husband has gotten used to my shopping addiction…they would probably get along. So…I did some research on shipping fine China and believe the safest way is to separate the pieces by similar size and double boxed. For example, I’m going to ship all the dinner plates together, the teacups and saucers together, etc. so don’t be surprised when you open the boxes.

I know it’s a couple hours from you, but I absolutely love Virginia. My husband and I are considering retiring somewhere in VA…we only live in Cleveland because of his job. Do you like living Virginia?

jrogersm I do like Virginia. I'm in Northern Va, so it's a bit busy + lots of traffic, but also lots of amenities, cultural opportunities, etc. It would be pretty expensive to retire near here if you didn't already have a house here.

jrogersm We got a weekend place out in the country a few years ago with an eye to it becoming our retirement place, so we see the rural parts, too. They are lovely and have great community spirit in their own way, but also are a bit insular and not wild about "outsiders," "city folks," or "liberals" so there's that to consider (I'm guessing from your profile pic you at least one of those!)

They will be annoying to open, but I felt it was the safest option. PLEASE let me know if anything broke as I will happily refund you accordingly.
