Hi! I'm Grandma Barb ... The FUR Lady. I recycle old FURS, selling the best ones as VINTAGE FURS and using the others to make handmade items for everyday use. Throw pillows, purses, totes, cross-body bags, g-strings, earrings, keychains, card cases, drawer sachets ... are just a sample of what I handmake from REAL FUR. I am an Alzheimer's Care Giver who loves to sew. A portion of all profits is used to financially support Care Giver Support Groups associated with the Alzheimer's Association.

I purchased 2 cuba aligator body purse from the 40s and they are in the top of my closet... scared to touch em...I see the ladys of the 20s. 30s etc wear them and they all were classy ladies in their looks....wish that style never changed! dabor @grandmabarbsews . I must say I find your business fascinating. I have a very old curly lamb 3/4 coat and at one time came across a woman who made teddy bears from old furs. She retired before I could send the coat for repurposing. Are you aware of anyone who makes teddy 🧸? TIA, LindaB and CarolD

grandmabarbsews Curly Persian Lamb has a very thick leather pelt to it ... this would make it especially difficult to sew the little (neck) seams of a teddy bear. I like Curly Persian Lamb fur to make throw pillows and purses/tote bags. That's just me. My arthritic hands have tried teddy bears before and found it too painful because of those tiny seams. I do have a new teddy bear pattern with larger seams, but still really cute ... one of these days I'm planning to try that pattern in fur. As far as who ..

grandmabarbsews I could recommend, that's a tough one. My favorite real fur teddy bears are by "ElleVintage369" an Etsy seller. I don't know if she'll use your fur to make one or not. She does beautiful work and her prices are reasonable. I've even bought odds and ends from her in the past. Hope this helps! Barb
