mmarquis1104 Hi Theresa, I added two pictures of the side and back of the shoebox. I went to the website fsc.com and found that the leather is made from "eco friendly products." The word "vegan" is also used. The sandals do not have the smell of animal hide leather like a Dooney and Bourke leather handbag for example. That's the best I can tell you at this point. (1/2)

mmarquis1104 (2/2) I suppose if you were wearing leather sandals made from animal hide outside and it started to rain and the sandals got wet, the leather would most likely get damaged.
