@babyguppie77 I am so sorry. Everyone involved with setting up the store is either a cancer survivor or has a close family member affected. Our store managers mother has just a little time left. This is why we have worked so hard on the store. We get so many great items, we wanted to get to a wider audience of customers for our quality items and NWT.

I ABSOLUTELY 💗LOVE WHAT YOU ARE DOING!!!! I recently lost my husband of 21 yrs to colorectal cancer in March. We had been together since 15yrs old/27yrs. He’d battled cancer for 4 1/2 yrs & at passed away at only 42 yrs old. 😢 This is something very near & dear to my heart. I love that you are doing this for your community. I’d love to know more. Your donation could be help us by directing folks to our closet and encourage them to offer a fair price for our items. We started with Poshmark because we have so many nice items in our store. We are hoping to get them out in front of a wider group of buyers. Even receiving $2-3 dollars more per item will help us a lot over the long run.

@mimishair We can handle low ballers. We have room on some items, or we will counter. Our object is promote our best items to get a bit more here than in our store. If the price gets too low, we can just sell in the store, so we don’t need to be desperate. Selling online has it’s problems, but to the posters who get upset with low ballers. Try running a store- watching people shop lift or throw it all on the floor in the dressing room and other things we deal with. Then you will feel better!

LOVE this! What a fabulous mission. I work at a non-profit myself and at 33 was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Being a single mother, it was so difficult to balance my son, treatments, energy level, and a full-time job. Four years cancer free and I'm doing well. Wish every city had an organization like yours! Our hope is to build a following who, while still getting a bargain, will be willing to pay a fair price allowing us to raise more money. A few dollars per piece would make a huge difference for us! Our goal was never to raise a 100k and get our photo in the local paper presenting the big check to the American Cancer Society. It is to help many people in a small way by helping out with bills, help around the house, etc. God bless you and your recovery.

@donation4cancer May I ask how you guys started? I’ve been looking for someway to use my diagnosis to bring more purpose and awareness to the struggles that come after treatment. People don’t realize that after your “cured” there are little to no places to turn for support. I find this time to be more difficult than going through treatment

@escharf5714 If you have the spare time and feel well enough, look in your local area for somewhere to volunteer. We have several that come in to be involved, set up displays, clean, whatever needs to be done so the store itself acts as a support group.

@escharf5714 While there are several people involved. The whole idea was inspired by a local gentleman who lost a family member to cancer. He owns some real estate in the area and had the financial means to get the store started.

@donation4cancer Hi, I just wanted to say thank you for the opportunity to share your closet and for the generosity of all who either work, or donate their items and time. Both of my parents have passed from cancers, and I’ve just lost 2 Aunts, and 2 cousins have just been diagnosed, as well I have had 1 bout, and am being closely monitored for bone tumors that have Of yet been non cancerous, but it’s one of the cancers my father had.
