It stayed in place and moved beautifully while dancing and walking. I wish I could wear it again, but would it to be someone else's special dress. I am 5'10", generally a size 10/12. I did not alter the length - it grazed just above the ground while wearing 2 inch block heels. If you are tall, this will fit perfectly - if you are not, there is plenty of material to alter! One small tear at the bottom back of lace overlay train, about 1 inch. Not visable when dress hangs naturally - picture of tear included, then shown when hanging naturally. This could be easily stitched up or removed if shortening the dress.
