The sandstone duck material is made to take the punishment of extreme work conditions and is very durable. It resists snags and tears, and is micro-sanded and garment-washed for a soft finish that is both pliable and comfortable to wear. There's also a corduroy top collar with snaps underneath for the optional hood,which gives the option of adding extra protection against the elements. Front closure is enhanced by a two-way brass zipper with an inside wind flap and hook and loop closures, so you won't have to worry about the wind getting through the coat at your vulnerable midsection. This Carhartt Coat also has two extra-large front pockets and two chest pockets with flaps and hook and loop closures for keeping hands warm if necessary or carrying gear that needs to be close at hand. Triple-stitched main seams for extreme durability, the Carhartt Sandstone Coat has great work fit cut for better range of motion and comfort, featuring a split back with bi-swing, pleated elbow, and, to keep the snow out, a rib-knit storm cuff in the sleeves. Inside, the lining is nylon that is quilted to arctic-weight polyester insulation. This insulation is great for keeping the heat in, but still breathes, so moisture caused by perspiration doesn't work against you while you are working.
