Trashy Diva Dottie Red Fans halter dress, brand new with tags.Elasticized bodice has extra stretch/ease on side panels. Hips are free. Full skirt has pockets! Fabric is lightweight cotton with a little bit of stretch. Love this dress but have never worn it, as it was a little too snug on my torso (I am a usual size 6). See pics for measurements and Trashy Diva size chart.

krscanlan13 How much stretch does the waist have with the elastic panels? I am in a similar boat with a 27-28” waist (varies) but if you say it’s too snug, it sounds like I might forfeit being able to breathe even with the stretch lol

jenaflores315 @krscanlan13 Yes, it’s always a challenge with sizing for me! I am a pretty solid 28” waist and 36” bust. When I try it on, it zips up easily to my waist, and then once past my waist I can still zip it, but it’s stretched and more snug than I like. I usually wear size 6 in TD dresses, and I had hoped I could make this one work with the elastic/ease. Sad that I couldn’t! Hope that helps!

krscanlan13 @jenaflores315 Man, this is a toughie! It sounds like we are in the same boat!! I’m 36-28-38 but a bit on the squishy side since I crossed the 30 threshold, so a 6 would be ideal, it’s just that this is such a killer cut and it’s hard to find this cut at all with so few patterns available - alas! Thank you for enlightening me. Oh, to be 20 again!!

jenaflores315 @krscanlan13 if you are looking for a similar sewing pattern, check out Butterick 6682. It does not have the elasticized panels, but it’s a dead ringer for that style. And then you can pick out whatever fabric you like! Wow, I’m really not trying that hard to sell this dress, am I? LOL

krscanlan13 @jenaflores315 LOLLLL I really appreciate the recommendation, truly!! I am not particularly well-known for my sewing skills (rather limited to darning socks, adding buttons, and affixing patches) but it’s good to have a goal, however lofty it might feel to me at the moment 🙃
