@k_johnson_ apologies for the late response. I’m typically a true 7 1/2 but in this style of boot I prefer the 8 as it gives me room if I want to wear a little bit thicker of a sock. I have (thicker) ankles too and these boots fit nice without rubbing and are so easy to slip on and off.
