kolie82 hi there! I noticed you are from Florida- my husband just got a job in Orlando but we are coming from across the country so know nothing about Florida. Any suggestions on affordable/safe areas to look for housing? Thanks! @ftblfam218

ftblfam218 @kolie82 Hi, we are in Clermont which is about 30 min outside Orlando, it's nice and close to a lot, also easy access to Hwy50 and I-4 which bring you into orlando. We don't like the crazy traffic in Orlando so we prefer to live outside of the city. Also if you have kids, Clermont is easy access to the theme parks.

We’ve been reading some scary things about being directly in Orlando, so I’ve been seeking out opinions from ppl that live nearby! I will start looking at clermont-are there any areas you recommend staying away from? Or other nearby Orlando cities that aren’t the safest for children?

kolie82 @ftblfam218 Is clermont affordable for the average family in your opinion? Someone suggested another city, I can’t remember the name of, but when I looked up houses there, they were waaaaay out of our price range unfortunately. Thanks again for your help!

ftblfam218 @kolie82 Housing prices can vary. The houses here are block construction because of the hurricanes, which can make the cost go up. New construction will be the higher cost but less worry than an older home of course. There are nice new and older homes in Clermont, and it's more kid friendly than being near the city.
