I loved going to the gym! In 2015 I wanted to challenge myself on a whole other level. I entered two INBF body building competitions. With a strict diet and exercise I was able to for the most part keep my chronic daily headaches and migraines at a tolerable level. At age 45, I was in the best shape of my life competing against many women almost half my age. By the time I turned 46, the chronic, migraines, headaches and cluster headaches were so out of control and in a never ending cycle. Eventually I could no longer work or go to the gym. I was initially admitted to the hospital for a month as the doctors tried to break the migraine cycle, when every treatment imaginable. I was devastated when nothing they tried broke the migraine cycle. I have been on Long term disability ever since. I had always been able to just push through the pain and get things done. It was like my body said “You have ignored all of warnings, signs and signals for long enough!” Due to many of the medications that the doctors tried and being unable to exercise regularly I began gaining weight rapidly. I was 130 lbs when I first got ill and my heaviest I was 275lbs! I now weigh around 225 lbs. I had been fit my whole life and gaining all this weight, especially around my midsection has created a whole new host of health conditions, high blood pressure, high heart rate, sleep apnea, shortness of breath, fatigue, chronic pain syndrome, PTSD. I basically live my life in a dark bedroom.

I can totally relate to your story. I was 127 pounds when I walked into the Cross Cancer Clinic....I am now 212. Depression is a horrible disease, and I understand exactly how you feel.
