bigskyskinz Hi ladies & gents! I ONLY want to spare folks from suffering the same a$$ ramming that I encountered my very first Posh purchase. (And this goes for all the other sale sites. ESPECIALLY _bay! But this problem is prolific here too! I am a licensed make up artist with a career portfolio I sacrificed ..well, TOO MUCH for. But I did devote my life to it and I honestly thought I'd seen it all in this industry Until my first online makeup purchase.

bigskyskinz It was on _bay and I THOUGHT I'd scored the deal of a lifetime. When I received my purchase, I realized the moment I picked up one I'd the items (it was a lot ) that it was fake. Or something. Because at that point? I didn't even know 'fake' crap existed outside of designer bags and shoes..lol

bigskyskinz It was a HELL of a pricey lesson. But enough about that. Since then, I've dedicated many,many hours, to research. I've even taken several consumer awareness seminars. Bottom line...probably 45% or so of the products on these sites, are knock off. And if you don't know what 'replica', knock off , FAKE crap is made of, do yourself a GREAT service and look it up. There is ZERO regulations on ingredients where these products come from.

bigskyskinz They've been known & documented, to contain everything from lead to animal fats! Yikes!!! But to MY point. Most do not purchase let's say, an eyeshadow pallette KNOWING it's fake. (Except the ones that buy them in bulk lots for $2 a piece and sell them in here for the 'unbelievably low price of $16'!!

bigskyskinz Here is a FACT folks. NO ONE purchases multiples of a $40-75 dollar item...just to resell on here for $15-25!!! IF YOU COME ACROSS A CLOSET WITH MORE THAN ONE OR TWO OF THE SAME ITEM (usually mid to high range, limited edition ..etc) AND THEYRE ALL PRICED FAR BELOW NORMAL , THEY ARE FAKE!! PERIOD!!!!! ALSO, AND VERY IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER!!!

bigskyskinz it is common practice that high demand items (such as: most brands holiday release, everything Kylie, Huda Beauty palette, Graveyard Girl from Tarte`, ANY Anastasia Beverly Hills discontinued palettes!!! Etc) THERE WERE STAUNCH RESTRICTIONS ON HOW MANY COULD BE PURCHASED!! Usually only one or two!! Sure! Someone could have everyone they know.buy the max limit up....but they SURE as hell arnt going to be selling them for less than half price!!!! Lol

bigskyskinz I see these unconscionable sellers actually claim authenticity too,!!,They can AND DO claim WHATEVER IT TAKES to make the sale. DONT GET RIPPED!!!! If you actually don't care that something is fake and just WANT it but can't afford the real?? GO GET IT FROM THE SAME KNOCK OFF SITES these sellers do, for even half what they're selling their fakes for!!

bigskyskinz Just use your noggin's ladies. If a seller has multiples of high demand and new or holiday releases! DO NOT BELIEVE IT when they listing says 100% AUTHENTIC. Its bullshit! The only 'authentic' is that it IS indeed an eyeshadow pallet...or a lip stick...but NOT authentic brand! I cringe when I click into a closet and see row after row of Huda's palette, or ANYTHING Kylie. Hell....many of these items, there weren't even as many manufactured as scammers have for sale in their closets alone!!

bigskyskinz Also.....sellers like *LoveNotJudge* on here. She has a bunch of Urban Decays Electric palettes for sale for $32 claiming they are 'limited edition' and sold out. FLAT OUT LIES. UDs Electric was NOT LE and Sephora has had it at $24 for months!!! It IS phased out however, so no longer being made...but she's directly lying to make the product more appealing.

bigskyskinz When a seller has a shit load of palettes that are not generally seen in the knock off market, therefore are indeed real....just take a second to click over to Sephora or Ulta! See what's in their *sale* section! 9 outta 10, you're going to find that item for MUCH less than seller is trying to peddle it for!!

bigskyskinz These sites were made for folks to make an honest buck...NOT TO FIND EVERY WAY HUMANLY POSSIBLE TO SCAM EVERYONE!! The degenerates of society seek these sites out like flies to shit and PREY on the slightest bit of lack of knowledge. PLEASE DO NOT BE THEIR NEXT VICTIM! I am more than happy to advise if you see a closet you want to.purchase from but are unsure of authenticity. I ACTUALLY AM an 'authority' on this shit!! Lol.

josh5252 You are so right...I see this on here all the time, especially with clothes and jewellery. And you can definitely tell when the item has multiples, the problem is sometimes they are from the real site and have them on the knock off sites too but cheap coppies!

melmarotta @bigskyskinz dude.. when I first came on Posh I almost didn't make an account because people were literally selling KYLIE LIP KITS for $75!! Ones she had stocked on her site!! And all these other brands marked WAY the hell up.. like $290 for a Coloured Raine palette??!! I know it just sold out and is never coming back but HELLO??!! It's MAKEUP! I TRADE I don't really like to SELL on Posh because of the fees.. it's redic of them to take out 20%!!

melmarotta @bigskyskinz but the makeup I DO sell that's brand new.. just to TRY to get SOME of my money back I do mark up but never over retail unless it IS sold out forever.. and I don't try to rip ppl off so I deal.. but never would I mark a lippie $75!! Or a palette $290!! Cray cray! So I hear ya! I just prefer to trade. I feel like I get a better deal that way.. I am a makeup artist as well.. its my passion!!

melmarotta And ya.. so many fakes.. it's terrible:( I DO get doubles and sometimes triples of my makeup ( you know being an MUA yourself) but it's my career.. I don't buy it just to sell it on here.. I buy for my clients so if sales fall they it gets posted.. so ya when you see ppl doing that on here, especially if they are not a licenced MUA, you know it's fake sh*^ ! Lol..

The world wide web wasnt part of my career . Only socially really. By the time internet was accessable to the masses (financially anyhow) I was already well established. Indeed..overbooked . For pretty much 20 yrs...lol. I didn't feel the need nor have the time, to mess around online.

Kind of. Luckily, I did have a solid client base so I rented out an end if a strip mall here and opened Helena's first make up studio...lol. bigskyskinz @melmarotta Anyhow....the studio was adjacent to a salon and in short order, I was swamped . On top of my freelance schedule. Which has always been 100%full. ANYniw (sheesh) When I opened my studio, I found clients requesting me to get a variety of specific items in!? A dynamic I hadn't encountered much of , beyond just advising where to purchase, ya know? So THEN I began purchasing multiples of LE, SE and/or highly sought after items , specifically for resale to clients.

In 2013 , I FINALLY shut.myndamn girls up (they hounded me CONSTANTLY about going online with my work. said I was being a dino...lol) and started a YouTube channel Began playing around in there for fun. It always felt awkward though. Honestly. But i had a BIG gal (Angie at Hot & Flashy ) I'd been watching a long time and became somewhat friends with.

bigskyskinz @melmarotta I'd been watching her since she started her channel and she was around 10k when I started....she made a vid on good beauty channels for 'aging' women and mentioned mine. 🤣 Next thing you know ..I went from several hundred to several thousand , subscribers. And Iver the next yr , that more than doubled. It grew Really fast. Faster than I could keep up with almost. And again...I was JUST finding my rhythm .....when I lost Mattasyn.

bigskyskinz @melmarotta and that was my last vid. I had all intentions of teturnung and believe it or not, I STILL get quite a few emails from people asking me to please come back. My subscribers have Doubled since I left. How crazy is that!? Problem is...this time I've been gone? It's changed me. Now....I open an Instagram and these women have THOUSANDS of pictures...and 98% of them are selfies?!! I only see arrogance .self absorption...lol. Idk. I just don't see it like I used to.

With the decision to downsize product I dont use much or at all...and hopefully find some items I foolishly passed on and regret. LIKE THAT DAMN MARSALA PALETTE!! bigskyskinz @melmarotta I had/have full intentions of selling...but the amount of S*"T I see on here has really put me off I guess. I mean...it's not only dangerous but against Posh rules AND THE LAW...yet, I see sellers I've personally reported multiple times...still peddling fake s*"t! !! Posh never even shut em down! All about those seller fees ya know. And the lack of ethic keeps me from chipping MY 20% in.
