@nspnr The single share notification (or first share notification) means that your first share of a listing will show up in the seller's newsfeed. Subsequent shares of the SAME listing will not issue a notification. This a Posh safety feature designed to prevent someone from spamming another seller via the share feature. Poshers sometimes use a comment to notify the seller they are sharing the listing again. It's not necessary to do that. If you are a consistent sharer of other closets, you are spreading the Posh love - and that's really what counts! πππππ

Evidently contraband in UK "Whatye want sand fer?" " Whatye go in' to do with sand?" " They actually sell sand in The States?" Oh, I was looked at like a mythical unicorn at 6 ports.. I had to get alternative token.. My second mission was to get you, my dear, something depicting the Queen Mumm... It was like she never existed! I was at the Tower of London and saw the jewels.. So... No pictures THESE BRITS MEAN BUSINESS! I saw items worn by the Queen Mumm... Reached into my bag (my baby travel Gucci) and went "on the down low" to snap a picture!!! A guard saw this and said "Ma'am, if you are about to do what I think you are going to do, I will seize your phone!" I said no sir!!!!! I wanted, out of respect , to make sure phone was off!!!! Big blue doe eyed like! He thanked me and told me additional about the jewels.. Turns out, he was way cool, but no picture :( Shop after shop all Kate and Willie!!! So, I plan b'd it for you as well! Just a small token as prices were crazy and the doller to pound was an as& raping (and not the good type).... But I did get you something royal.... Like ;) and I would like to shoot it out to you :) I will give you a clue.. I am a descendent of the Royals... My last name is Stewart! The Stewart Castle is Holyrood in Edinburgh (next to Paris, my favorite port). The Queen and Queen Mumm vacation there one week out of the year ! The tour included Edinburgh Castle, but not Holyrood.. But we got a stop (to peer thru the gates) My sister was in London when I was, but only spent a week in Westminster/London... (Lucky dog had time , at my nieces insistence, to do a 3 hour NIGHT WALKING TOUR OF WHITE CHAPEL...yes, it was THE JACK THE RIPPER TOUR!) Sis is a Royal Family Groupie.. Books, documentaries, she is obsesses ! Her only request was pictures of the Stewart Castle! Our coach was slated for a 5 minute photo op.. Aka 2 minutes with crowds...I bonded with Helen, over the whole Hugh Jackman church family man connection... She walked up to me as I was trying to wedge through iron gates to get pics for Tricia.. I explained the sentiment, great grandfather thru Ellis a island (left out he was found on skid row later in life after he abandoned his family and died in a back ward of Bellvue in NY) and when she heard Stewart (the royal lineage is huge... Still in UK) She allowed me an extra 10 minutes to take pictures and to pop into gift shop in alley outside castle gate !!!! It was there that I was able to procure a royal token... Ok.. A few degrees of separation , but I worked it out .. Thanks to Helen!!! Ok, I was Poshless for three weeks, so , excuse my lengthy tale as to the origin of your gift... I am making up for lost time!

I've heard they are very strict up that way regarding the queen's accoutrements. AS IF we could sit down with paste gems and create our own crown. - darn, I wish!!! @sdshopper I totally agree with the sensitivity of it, which is why I stress to offer help ONLY if desired. Mentoring is something we may see more of (via PMHQ) and it would be optional for new users - but it's something to seriously explore. So many posh closets have spectacular items....and one little rule breaking item that keeps them from getting a host pick. I'm hoping these new users ask for and get help so they can score those host picks!!!

@wownelly Hi Janelle - welcome to Poshmark! I've taken a peek in your closet and my biggest tip is to always be improving your covershots in a variety of ways - take your pics in natural light, try to wear what you can, pair clothing with jewelry or a cute pair of shoes, maybe throw in a handbag and have someone take your photo or style it in front of the mirror and snap a pic. It's easier for us to want to buy if we see how it looks on you, not the hanger. This is the reason many closets have mannequins. Another thing you can do is set your phone to videotape, set it up on something sturdy and pose a few times, then take a screen capture of what you like. Get close up shots on the design, pattern, and fabric of what you are selling. Throw in color for the items that are black or white (an accessory helps) Photograph light items on dark backgrounds and vice versa for contrast. You have fun clothes, but with over 5 million listings on Poshmark, you need to make us stop scrolling through the other listings and click into your items. Host picks help with that and you want to lure hosts into your closet. That covershot is the all important first step. I'll tag you to a few of my other tips which may help. I recently had a customer who purchased a bag and wanted to return it because she read the description incorrectly, & had thought it was a cross body bag. I'm just curious as to what your response would be.

@donnajean_67 Hey, GF! Thank you for all your lovely comments! I'm ultra flattered. I have not yet had a return so don't have experience to answer your question. The buyer can refuse to accept the bag first via Poshmark, but unless it is damaged or not faithful to your listed description, it really can't be returned. Remember that each Posher has the ability to re-Posh the item in her own closet without a listing fee - even if she isn't a regular seller. You can offer access to the original listing/pics, etc. to help her create the new listing. You can also help share it and direct potential customers to it. If she really wants her money back now, and you will accept the item, remember that it left your hands for a while and the condition may change before it is returned to you. Ask her to mail it back in the same packaging, same box if possible - snap a quick photo before sealing the box to show condition. I think it's justified she pays the return shipping since you delivered what you promised but she made a mistake in purchase - you shouldn't be penalized for that. I guarantee she'll read every item description more closely and ask plenty of questions after this. Once you receive it, you will need to arrange to reimburse her. As an example: If she paid $30 plus orig. shipping, she may expect $35. You made $24 off the sale. Thats an extra $11 out of your pocket to return her money in full. Decide how you want to handle that. Whether by buying from her closet to reimburse or in a separate payment (check, money order, etc), this should ALL be discussed UP FRONT before the return is made. If you feel like she may buy from you in future, you might spot her extra allowances on some of the above. We all want happy customers, but at the end of the day, we need to be content with how the transaction ended. So make the best decision for you and then stick to it! Good luck!! :)

Thanks for responding so quickly, I appreciate it! I had already told her that I was sorry she had misread the description, but since I had given a very detailed description including the exact measurements of the bag and how long the strap drop is, & photos showing it on the shoulder, the sale was final. In her response she made it sound as though returning items is a common practice, and since this situation is a first for me I wanted some in put from an experienced Posher. I am comfortable with my decision, but I will take your advice & try to help her sell it if she decides to list it. Thanks again!

I have another question for you. Is there a way to see Sellers/Closets that I just recently followed - as opposed to just seeing an alphabetical list? I ask because I was in a closet this morning that had a post about looking for a sequin maxi skirt, and I found a few and wanted to tag her, but cannot remember who it was. (Sometimes I get into a closet and then another from there, and another from there, down the rabbit hole if you will, and lose track of it!)

@mom2eandj Hi Martha! Excellent question! Unfortunately, if you've exhausted your upper left "back" button and can't return to the closet you were seeking, the trail turns a bit cold. There are ways to return to closets that you have previously searched in the "find person" section of your account. Clicking into the blank field should populate your last 100 searches that you typed in previously. The other option would be to perform an item search for what you recall on the listing, eg. "looking for" and filter the category for skirts and dresses and unsold items only. The results will still be lengthy, but it might help jog your memory. This is an excellent time to remind everyone reading the comments here - if you see a closet that you like, always "like" at least one of the items (liking an item you don't intend to buy isn't harmful - it's a vote of confidence) This puts that user into your searchable likes and thus much easier to find than looking at your follower list. @laylalucasmama hi! I would love to help you. Getting a party host pick would greatly improve your closet's exposure and help with shares, followers and sales. Because hosts can only select from closets that follow all the rules and guidelines, you need to make sure your closet qualifies. Don't accept paypal, and remove any items from your closet that are not allowed. To see a full list of what you can and can't sell, go to your account page and scroll down to the FAQ. At the bottom of FAQ is a section entitled "what can I sell on Poshmark". I also have many more tips in my closet that can help. Just look in my listings. If you have any questions, let me know. @tigress18 Hi Ramona! I'm very happy to help you. I think your listings are great - you've got clean covershots with detailed descriptions. What you are lacking is a bigger following when you share your closet. 800 fellow users are seeing what you share - you want to take that number higher. The first thing I tell every Posher is to "always be working on those covershots". Don't be afraid to wear an item, take it outdoors for better lighting or even put it together with coordinating accessories or clothing. With over 375,000 active selling closets on Poshmark, you may want to think outside the box to make your closet memorable and click-worthy - a "scroll-halter" if you will. One of your primary goals should be scoring a host pick in one of the evening parties. That kind of exposure is 1000-fold and attracts numerous shares and followers. I've written a few listings ("Q-Tips") in my closet that discuss how to get a host pick, how to network, when to share your closet and the common characteristics that you'll find in the more successful closets. I'll tag you to the more popular of the Q-Tips to start. Also check out my blog (just click the link below my name). I wanted to list a cute PINK by VS travel cooler. It's not plastic or hard. It's soft material. Does the fall in the portable accessorize? Like tablet covers umbrellas cell phone covers. Soft sided lunch bags that look like small handbags are fine, but coolers that can hold a bunch of drinks are not, though soft sided may be considered differently. @cmd413 Carolyn: this from HQ "Lunch totes are allowed on Posh, however, coolers are not. This can be tricky as this particular item can double as both. When advising her, please be sure she lists the item through the proper name, and if she has any further questions she can reach out to support as well." Hope this helps :)

Currently it tells about the $1.99 shipping deal. Just click that for directions/rules on how to get the reduced shipping. Good luck! ππ

@rcatheron As for official forum, I don't know how their format works. I know they are a central place to see party host names and live meetup information. As the app gets bigger, the sellers who run these information only closets may be getting too busy to field all questions. There may be something coming in the new year that will cull info, tips and extra help into one easy to find place. Stay tuned!

@makeuppatti Hi Patti! Welcome to Poshmark. Good question. You do indeed tag by putting the username behind an @. Careful on the mass tagging as it is a divisive issue. Many Poshers do not want to be tagged with a bunch of other names on anything. Some don't mind at all, but I would definitely ask permission from each user before you create a tag "list" for parties or sales. Happy Poshing! πππ.

I love your q-tips! I have been flying blind since I joined posh last month and would love to mentor new poshers once I get the hang of things! It feels like I share others closets like crazy, but my followers and shares don't seem to be increasing very rapidly. Side note-Love your take on using stock photos, so if you happen to take a peek at my closet, don't judgeπ¬, I will change stock photos out ASAP. Thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge!

I've tried to learn as much as I can to be successful.

@eternally28 Welcome to Posh, Stacey! You have great items but shares are so very important. You should share your whole closet NO LESS than 3-4 times everyday, preferably in party time slots. Also, share more for others. Many Poshers share 500-1000 items per day. This really helps with followers & sharebacks. I have a number of Q-tips in my closet which have helped Poshers shortcut to success. They explain easy ways to get noticed. Good luck! Cheers! πππ

@shopahola Hi Sandra :) You don't have to suffer on a mass tag list. Kindly request to be removed. If they don't remove you, block for a week or so and see if they've taken you off. Mass taggers who don't have permission from their "listees" are breaking etiquette rules. Poshers create them like phone call trees to generate buzz. Gets the word spread quickly, but to the detriment of our feeds. Anyone who puts you on a list needs your permission first. Hope this helps.

@fallinup Hi Pam! This is an error I've not heard of. Make sure you are using the latest app update, or try reinstalling the app. Also check if you can log onto a computer browser and follow others. If you are still unable to follow anyone at all, your email to PM should yield results soon. Sometimes you can pose questions like this on the PM Twitter or FB and get quick insight if there is a known glitch. Good luck! π

Thanks, when it happens, I can't follow from computer either. I'm thinking maybe I followed to many people in a given time frame. I got the error for over 10hrs last night, then could follow some this morning, but after following all the just joined', I got it again for several hours. I will keep an eye on it and wait for a response.

@fallinup Ok, I think I know the problem. You've been active since March but have followed a large number of closets in a short amount of time. The system is likely flagging your account to determine if a bot is being used. This is a security measure - bots are not allowed on PM. If you are doing your own manual clicking with no automation, obviously you aren't a bot, but you may want to slow down a bit to allow your account to reset. Hope this helps. :)
