mamaturtledove Q:Why are some items priced very highly for an inexpensive item? A: That tactic is used to "reserve"an item. We change the price by adding a zero or two so no one else buys. Then, when the buyer is ready the price is changed back to the mutually agreed upon price

mamaturtledove Q: What is a listing and how do I get it on my closet page? A: A listing is an item for sale. You can make one by hitting the "Sell" icon or the camera and it will prompt you to take pics or upload from your gallery.

mamaturtledove Q: Why do some listings say "RESERVED" in the same way an item says "SOLD"? A: If the yellow RESERVED sign is writting on a listing it means someone is in the process of buying that item. If you want to manually reserve an item, go to your listing and hit "edit", write "RESERVED"in the description or title and add a zero to the price so no one else will buy. When your buyer is ready, delete the zero.

mamaturtledove Q: How do you bundle? A: You can bundle in several ways. Some people list the items (ie. post 2-4 different photos) or use and app like pic collage to show the items in their closet that the buyer is interested in purchasing. You can create a new listing for this or just edit an existing one. Then you change the description to include all the items the buyer wants to purchase, change the price to the agreed amount and voila! The listing is ready for the buyer to purchase.

mamaturtledove Q: What is a PoshParty? A: PoshParties happen 3 times a day. The 9am party is brand specific (ie. JCrew, Tory Burch, Chanel) and the NOON party is item specific like purses, dresses or shoes. The 7pm party is a themed party like "Girly Girl" or "Top Trends" or "Downtown Chic". If you have items in your closet that match the party, share away!

mamaturtledove Q: How do I upload an item in my closet to a PoshParty? A: Simply hit the share button or icon and it will give you the option to share to your followers or to the PoshParty.

mamaturtledove Q:What's the difference between me sharing my items and someone else sharing my items? A: When you share your items, only your followers will see them. When another Posher shares your items, their followers will see your items in their feed. If you share for people, they normally share back as well. This is beneficial when the Posher you're sharing for has lots of followers. If your items are shared to a PoshParty, whether by you or another Posher, everyone who looks at the posted listings from that party will see your items.

mamaturtledove Q:Why is PayPal frowned upon. It's actually against Poshmark's policy to take transactions offline. This is to protect all Poshers from possibly being scammed. If the transaction is kept on Poshmark, the Poshmark team will protect both buyer and seller.

mamaturtledove Q: How does trading work? A: Trading is actually not supported by Poshmark. Some people do participate in trades by marking their listing as $0 and waiting for the other trader to do the same. Then they each 'buy' the listing at $0 and pay for shipping. However, some Poshers have been scammed this way. They will send their item and the other Posher won't. If the trade does go wrong, Poshmark can't support or intervene so trade at your own risk.

mamaturtledove Q: Why do some Poshers keep the listings of items they bundled when they've already sold them? A: Most sellers keep the listings up as proof that they are trustworthy sellers and that they've conducted many transactions without problems. It also keeps a record of any conversations between them and their buyers. It also serves as a good way to showcase the sellers style and collection of items.

mamaturtledove Q: How and when do you get paid after you've sold something? A: Once you've made a sale, your money goes into your Poshmark account under 'my balance' and it will show as 'pending' until the buyer looks over the item they received from you and 'accepts' the purchase as received; or within 3 days of delivery. Once this happens, your funds are yours to redeem (by requesting direct bank deposit or check) or spend on Poshmark.

mamaturtledove @desirea245 I would definitely have some packing materials ready, just in case :) You can download the USPS app and order directly from there, or pick up a few boxes from your local post office. They have some medium sized boxes that are self adhesive so you don't even need tape, but it would be a good idea to have some just in case you want to secure the box even more. Make sure you use the Priority Mail boxes that don't say regional rate or flat rate. And no need to be afraid of selling! As long as you take good care of your items, clean them and package them neatly you should be fine. Hope this helps! ;)

mamaturtledove @tamikay26 If you go to the hosts' closets, sometimes they will have a post that says tag them on a item in your closet (in the comment section of your item just put the @ and their closet name) that matches the theme. If you've never had a host pick, chances are you'll get one soon if you do this 😉

mamaturtledove @rebekahb1 Generally it's a tactic used so that no one buys that listing for whatever reason. Maybe it's reserved or on hold for someone or maybe a seller isn't sure about listing an item and wants feedback first. Hope that helps 😄

pcmacsavvy Jist when I needed HELP, this appeared. TY! I would like to know how sellers post comment, personal images of pets, rules of closet, and such with nothing underneath such as cost, description, etc.? mamaturtledove @pcmacsavvy You simply create a new listing but post it at $0 and in the Description area just put Meet me or Closet Rules. To update your closet and move things to the top, simply share the item. Whatever is most recently shared is moved to the top of your closet. To tag a user you use '@' and their user name. mamaturtledove @berexo USPS boxes are free 😉 If you do get the Priority 'flat rate' boxes, you can still use those. I end up crossing out the 'flat rate' part with a Sharpie/black marker and, 50 shipments later, I've never had a problem 👍

mamaturtledove @berexo Yes the priority mail boxes are free. I believe it even states in the p.o. Land if the free noses or something like that 😃 Or use any plain (no writing on it) box you have lying around. Alternatively, if you're shipping shoes in a box for example, just wrap it in the plain brown mailing paper you can get at the dollar store.

mamaturtledove @plumvirtu Regular Priority mail boxes. They don't say flat rate. I heard the flat rate ones can be returned to sender for extra shipping fees or held by the p.o. for extra fees before releasing to the receiver.

julzfern Interesting. I went to ship out my first item sold. Our PO was out of "priority mail" boxes. They only had "priority mail flat rate" boxes. They said they're now using them for dual purpose, acted like no issue. But I read everywhereeee not to use flat rate.... We sent it off in the flat rate box because that's all we had. Hoping to find out Monday or Tuesday of any issues. Good to know you haven't had a problem. I didn't think to sharpee out flat rate/bar codes. Hm

mamaturtledove @eeagn When you hit sell you can either rake a photo or choose a little icon in the right bottom corner to access your picture gallery. Simply choose the ohot you saved in your collage folder. Hope that helps

mamaturtledove @missymcphee See comments #9 and #11 above. Sharing to your followers or to parties means only PM users/followers can see those items. However, if you go to the top of your page and click on the little boxes on the top right you can share your closet, or someone else's, to another site like Facebook or Instagram.

hurdkb @vlh2003 😀Hi welcome to Poshmark. This is good for new poshers. I only started about a month ago and have already sold quite a bit. It really works.😀 The one thing I would say is make sure your pictures look nice and show as many as you can for each listing.😀 It's hard for me to think about purchasing something if the pics are bad😀

lynemma Q: When I use the Posh listing camera, it automatically puts on a filter and I can't remove it. The color changes and it makes body shots thinner. Cool but color is important! Can you help?

mamaturtledove @lynemma When the picture is uploaded, do you see options at the bottom for the filter? The 1st one on the farthest left side should be 'original'.

lynemma @Mamaturtledove For me, all my originals are color altered and filtered. I find myself using my camera and uploading via files to maintain color. Example: in my closet the DKNY sweater and Tommy LBD were original photos through the app, the Old Navy maxi dress was uploaded via files. Thanks!

mamaturtledove Were the Tommy and DKNY pics taken with an iPhone or IPad? Maybe you have an auto filter on your camera with that device? Sorry...wish I could help. I'm not sure why it would auto color and alter the photos. @lynemma

mamaturtledove @mang0linn Only new lingerie (bras etc) can be listed on Poshmark. If you list used bras or swimwear, PM can remove the listing and go as far as restrictIng your account. I would put lingerie under Other.

mamaturtledove @alistarrr31410 Hi! It means that a Party Host from one of the 7pm PST themed parties chose that item to be featured as a Host Pick. Themes include Boho Chic, Pretty, Flirty & Girly, and Date Night. Go to tonight's Party and go to the Host Picks section to see their choices. Hope that helps.

mamaturtledove @alistarrr31410 Party Hosts are chosen by Poshmark execs. Usually Poshers who are in good standing in the PM community, who are helpful to other Poshers and share listings, who have closets with a variety of items with nice cover photos.

ccbirm @kittynkiss or anyone else- any suggestions on what to do if an item I really want to purchase, the posher doesn't seem to be active and is not responding?? There are two pieces that I have been desperately searching for and there is a listing for each of them but neither Posher seems to have had any activity in about 6 months and isn't replying, though all of their listings and closet are still posted....thoughts??

wade1953 I read through your helpful tips and they answered a lot of my questions already. But I DO still have a few things I'm not understanding. So far, I have only purchased, not posted anything to sell yet. Want to have a good handle of what to do in that area. Is it possible to remove an item once u have posted it for sell? If so, how is that done. I was following some UGG boots that had been posted quite a while ago. There seemed to have been an issue previously between the seller and a potential buyer. Now, all of a sudden, I don't see the boots anywhere. They r no longer in my likes and I looked through every UGG boot and didn't see them there either. So I wondered if items can be removed at the sellers discretion and if so,?how is that done? I'm still not clear on tagging and sharing and making general comments between fellow poshers. What I have done to communicate thus far is find an item I "like" and comment under that. But I have to remember what items I comment under!! Silly, I know; but I didn't know how else to do it. Lastly(for now), can the boxes I receive items in be reused when I sell items? Thank u sssoooo much for taking time to answer my questions. What a great service u offer to us new gals!!

mamaturtledove @wade1953 Hi Barb. Yes a listing can be deleted as long as it has not sold. Once it has sold, the listing remains on the Posher's page permanently. The seller simply goes into the listing they wish to be deleted and hits the option to delete the listing. Perhaps the UGG boots sold in a bundle, or maybe the seller changed their mind or they could have sold on another site. As for tagging someone on a listing, if you know someone who might like that particular item, you simply tag them with the @ sign and their user name. So I am @mamaturtledove. You can share listings you think other Poshers might like by simply hitting 'share' and the item will be shared with your followers. If you wish to share the item to a party (the options are at 9am, 12pm and 7pm PST) you can do that as well. Boxes, as long as they're not in rough shape, can be reused as long as they are secure with tape and a new label is used and the old one is no longer visible. I hope this helps. wade1953 Thanks so much. But a couple more questions. Where do I find the @ sign to tag something? Also I have been deleting items off my "like" site once I have purchased them. I keep one "like" from each closet I like at all times so I can easily find that closet again. That's probably not the right way, but it is what I figured out on my own and it seems to work. mamaturtledove @wade1953 Hi Barb. The @ sign is on the #2 on a normal keyboard if you're using a computer. If you're using an Ipad or phone there should be an @ sign among the symbols. As for unliking something, I think it's a valid thing to do if you are no longer interested in that item. I hear you about trying to keep your likes organized. It's challenging ;) For cover photos, I try to take really clear photos. You can also try to be creative and make a collage, or style the outfit complete with shoes and accessories. It's really up to the individual, but PM does suggest you take good photos because that will help sell your item faster. If the photo is 'not so neat' as you put it, you will be forced to ask for questions or even as the seller to post a clear photo so you can make a proper decision.

wade1953 Have a couple of questions regarding picture displays. How do u get such nice groupings? (The pictures with 3 +pics in each group) do u have a special app or something? I want my pictures to look nice and professional. Also how does everyone get the little personalized postings (the blocks that say ex: meet the seller or bundled for ....), etc? mamaturtledove @wade1953 For the collage cover photos you can use an app like PicStitch or PicsArt. You can choose how many photos ot put in your collage. The little symbols or emblems are from the Emoji app. They're called emoticons. Personalized postings are made the same way as regular postings. You control what you put in the description and which photos are uploaded. So, if you want to put a listing about yourself, you can upload a couple of photos, put "Meet Me" in the Details section and then put a little bit about yourself in the Description area. The category can be "other". For my closet rules etc, where it's just words in the photos, I use an app called Versagram.

Not everyone will post an 'about the seller' or 'meet me' listing on their page, but if you're talking about the NEW feature on Poshmark you should be able to go to someone's closet and at the very top next to their picture should be a button that says "About". As for showing the brand name on an item, most people take a photo of the label or do a screen shot of a designer name from their actual website or product stock photo and use that in a collage. To put SOLD on top of a photo you can use an app like Texts Photo.

mamaturtledove @bibiblocksberg For 2) just wanted to add that if you look at a sellers history (pull up all their sold items) and review communication back and forth from their buyer, you can get a general idea of how that seller communicates etc. But since all purchases are protected by Poshmark, you can always return an item if it is unauthentic, is damaged or is misrepresented in the listing and does not arrive to you as described. mamaturtledove @bibiblocksberg The label covers all standard sized boxes up to 5lbs. Only if the parcel is over 5 lbs do you need an upgraded label. If you do need one, it'll be an additional charge depending on how much over 5lbs it is. When you go to print your label you can choose the 'need upgraded label option'.

mamaturtledove @bward04 Essentially, it means the item was chosen, by one of the hosts, as an ideal item for the Posh Party theme. At 7pm EST daily, there are different style party themes you can share your listings to (Date Night, Sparkle and Shine etc). If a host picks your item, it will get more exposure to the Posh Community because it remains visible in the Host Picks section of that party, and many Poshers scan the HPs for style ideas or great finds.

mopie 😃Yesterday, our mailman had to shlug 3 loads of boxes to our door. All Posh. He told my husband that I broke his record (36 years) of the most packages in one day, at one address. And he used to have a business route! Totally called me out! Lol! Unless an item arrives to you damaged, not as described (eg. seller says shoes were worn once but there is significant wear) or unauthentic (eg. slave2stuff06 I know trading is not supported by PM, however I did my first posh trade and the girl i traded with is unhappy with the size of 1 of the 2 bags i sent her and now wants me to take the bag back and matter of factly stated that she would "take" another of my bags worth over $1,000.00 more than the bag she did not like the size of. Mind you, the measurements of the bag she wants to send back were clearly stated in the listing and mentioned in the description as well. I asked her 12 plus hours ago if she wanted to pay the difference between the bags or let me choose another bag fr her closet to make up the difference (which i reduced the amount of to be courteous. No word from her yet but i see she is replying to comments and listing items so I know she is logged in and active. I left her 2 comments on both listings so i am fairly certain she got my message. Question is... If I do not hear from her can I delete the listings of the 2 bags i traded her and avoid negative feedback should she get upset that i wont give her a bag worth over $1000.00 because she did not properly read the description and/ or has buyers remorse? Do I also have to block her? I really don't want to do that but again do not feel it id my fault that she did not like the size of the bag. Can anyone offer an amicable suggestion or solution to the problem? Sorry so long. Please advise if possible. I want her to be happy but not at my expense as i feel i did not mislead her. Thanks! mamaturtledove @samanthaaf You just need that one person who wants/needs that item and is willing to buy. There's really no rhyme or reason to it. Try posting more items if you can and share them all the time to Posh parties & to your followers. Also try to gain more followers by sharing other people's items and following more Poshers because they usually follow back. I have over 57K followers and have over 200 available items in my closet but that doesn't guarantee me sales either. ;) Good luck!

Since Poshmark supplies a label and the purchased item is tracked through that label, am I able to use a third party to ship directly from the retailer like Chloe and Isabel Retail Jewelry for instance. 😘

Once the parcel is delivered to the buyer, the PM app automatically prompts the buyer to accept the parcel so the seller can get paid. Can you clarify : Why would you need to use a 3rd party?

Then they don't buy, I'm left with the same problem for reduced shipping if I kindly update the price for them then my followers see that price which limits me to sell at original price, how do I avoid this? mamaturtledove @for_the_baby Hi Samantha :) If you're worried about buyers not purchasing after lowering the price, what some sellers do is create a new listing, have the buyer 'like it' and then reduce the price. That way, if they don't purchase you can always delete it and the original listing isn't compromised. You can also put something in your listings or a notice in your closet stating that offers will only be considered if the 'offer feature' is used.

for_the_baby @mamaturtledove - one more question! Is it acceptable to use your own items in ensemble pictures? I like other Poshers' listings with outfits & but I don't always have the right shoes, jewelry or handbag from my sell "closet" to make the look work. I don't want to confuse buyers & always note items listed separately, when for sale, & pictured together vs what is my own item. mamaturtledove @for_the_baby Many Poshers use their own items or even stock images to create a total look or collage as a cover photo for their listing. I myself often put together whole outfits to give buyers an idea of what they can wear the item with. Some sellers add a disclaimer like **please note that the other items seen in the cover photo are for styling purposes only... Or something similar :)

I'm just a week into PM and have sold some things👍🏽I'm concerned about an item that I sent out a few days ago & their is no updated tracking info after it left the USPS? All the other items I sent out that same day, were received! Should I be concerned? mamaturtledove @catcamargo Sometimes it does take a while for USPS to update tracking info. Are you checking the status on Posh or going into the USPS app/site? I find updates are delayed slightly on PM. Also, there are rare times when parcels don't arrive in 2-3 days. I had a parcel that went from WA to NJ until it finally got to CA! As for the bar code, I didn't even realize there was one on the box. If there is, I've only been blacking out the 'flat rate' part and my parcels have arrived ok.

mamaturtledove @loveaclosetfind Sharing is always welcome because it exposes your listing, and therefore your closet, to all the followers of that Posher. The item ends up in the feed and More exposure = more potential sales. I share items I think other Poshers may be interested in or that I find are stylish or a good deal.....or just to help with exposure ;)

mamaturtledove @loveaclosetfind Trading is not against Posh rules but it is not supported; meaning if something goes wrong with the transaction (eg. The other party fails to send their part of the trade) PM can't help you. There are some reputable Poshers who do trade, so if you decide to try it, ask for references from people they've traded with.

At this point I think you can either purchase the 2nd item outright, or the seller can bundle the items anyway & you can buy them & she will ship the bundle. To be continued below......

luwill One other thing, bundling, if the customer purchased say 5 items from my closet, does a shipping discount apply automatically? I am confusing myself to no end. When i bought about 8 items from a gal, she put all items together and took a picture which it then said Bundle for LuAnn. Plus i did get discounts and lower shipping. I need to know how this works. mamaturtledove @luwill As for your photos, I would suggest making sure they're very crisp and clear. Blurry cover photos rarely entice a buyer. The ones with the white backdrop seem to pop more to me, even more so than the ones taken outside. A scale will definitely help you determine weight and whether extra postage is required. mamaturtledove @beutebaby Hi there. Some people do start bundles, and then when they have the funds they go ahead add more items and purchase. I myself have pending bundles :) After someone purchases an item, you can ship same day and have up to 5 days to ship.

Especially now that USPS is busy and also weather is unpredictable there's no way to guarantee 2-3 days delivery. I don't think it reflects badly on you if USPS didn't deliver on time

mamaturtledove @megancorn The packages are scanned by USPS and the status is then updated on Poshmark. Your buyer automatically meets an email when the parcel is accepted by USPS. So, all you need to do is drop it in the mailbox or post office 😃

starringbrenda Hi, I just figured out how to put signs in my closet. Yay! I thought that I would share. I purchased Word Swag for $3.99. It's fast and easy. After you save your sign, it' s saved in your photo gallery. Then you go to the sell camera on Poshmark and click on the file on the bottom right side Then simply choose your sign in gallery. Essentially you need to go into your sales section, and in the particular sale you want to cancel you go to Problems / Order Inquiry. It'll give you the option there to cancel order

mamaturtledove @sfm52 Hi Sara! I think if your item truly matches the party theme, then you should tag a host and let them be aware of your closet. To me it gets 'spammy' when you're tagging a host in each of your listings, at every party, but that's just my personal opinion.

mamaturtledove @deeprun50 Dated May 13th way at the top I did answer that previously. If you go to the top of your page and click on the little box on the top right you can share your closet, or someone else's, to another site like Facebook or Instagram. But you can't share a whole closet on Poshmark. You can only share specific items

mamaturtledove @kolansen Here is my FAQ. 'Like' it so it's saved and you can find it again. 😃 If you follow a Posher and vice versa, their item listings will show up in your feed.

mamaturtledove @ata32 If something was updated then yes she is active. As to why she's not answering you, that'll be pure speculation on my part. Maybe she's just getting it ready to ship. If she doesn't send it within 7 days you can cancel your purchase

elliejo503 Yes, they ruled in the Buyers favor. This was my first sale and needless to say..........I really do want to "thank" her. She said she was between an XL and L and bought the L. So it's obvious that it didn't fit and she found a way to return it. It's all good. Karma~~~~~

mamaturtledove @michelleot I don't think you do. Once it's shipped the buyer can't cancel, so you can mark it as 'shipped' as soon as you've dropped it in the mailbox. 😃

mamaturtledove @modnica90 Scroll up to Aug 26/27 and I answered that for someone. Maybe contact posh support if you've narrowed down all category features in your search (isolate by size, brand, price range etc that you can remember listing them for) and still can't see the items.

rosiekaye_ny You're awesome. I' I got a notification on my news feed that I got a comment on my listing. I can see the comment on the feed but when I go into the listing to respond, the comment is not there. The comment included a line about paying in cash and an email address , is there a possibility that poshmark removed the comment because it seems that this customer was potentially gonna take it offline? (which of course I'd never do). I'm just trying to learn how things work. Thanks tons

mamaturtledove @julesluxuries Only people who follow you can see your items and you can only see items of closets you follow. I suggest checking out all posh parties to find more Poshers or you can always do a search by category or brand if you're looking for something specific

Just this past week, AFTER LITERALLY SEARCHING FOR HOURS ON THIS WEBSITE, I had placed many items under "My Likes" and now they are ALL GONE! kristinanissa3 Why can l no longer see ALL of 'My Likes'? Only a limited amount of items I 'liked' are showing up when I go to 'My likes'. I used to be able to see EVERYTHING I 'liked' now the feed just stops after a limited amount are shown. jessa1155 I have two questions. Firstly, I bought an item and the seller claimed she shipped 2 days ago. There isn't even a notice of a label being printed, much less tracking information. She swears she mailed it. All of my sales update immediately after I print my label, within the day once scanned. Can a delay like this happen if the seller uses a Posh label? Thank you!

jessa1155 I sold a used Lululemon jacket at a great price. In my listing, I clearly state that this is a jacket that I purchased from another seller. She claims the item smells of smoke, I don't smoke! I was careful not to state anything about smoking or pets due to the fact that I cannot attest to how the previous owner lives. I only described the condition of the item, and she agrees that my description was accurate. She plans on washing to get the smell out and then try to return if unsuccessful.

I seem to be having very weird luck on Poshmark recently. I just got a two star rating due to a previously owned item I bought from another seller having an odor I did not detect. Ugh.

mamaturtledove @jessa1155 It happens. You'll never be able to make 100% of the people happy all of the time. I got a poor rating for slow shipping but on all my listings I state that I can't ship right away and if you're ok with that then shop in my closet. All you can do is shake your head and move on 😃

jessa1155 @mamaturtledove if you were to go to my closet, you'll see that I purchased a brand-new black zipper pull for her jacket due to the original being stretched. I disclosed that after noticing it after she purchased. I gave her a Lululemon bag. I'm just really surprised after everything I did that she gave me a two star review. I am not a smoker! It's possible that the previous owner smoked, I didn't smell anything. But you're right! I just hate having that bad review on my feedback.
