The very best pet carrier, super deluxe! The Wirecutter's upgrade pick since 2018! Sadly, Earl Grey has grown a little bit, and this is too small for him now (he was 11lbs in these photos). He's taken two cross-country vacations in it and been surprisingly happy on all four flights. One of the things I like best about this carrier is that you can get a little cheeky with opening it into "taco-mode" for your dog, but they're still completely restrained. He did great in it, and I hope your dog will, too.

mcparsley The only sign of wear is a small fray on the fluffy cover that’s on the internal base. There’s a corrugated plastic board with a foam pad to provide structure and comfort. That’s encased in a zippered nylon cover, with a cozy fluffy material on the top side. On the reverse (the bottom) is a bit of Velcro so the base doesn’t move in transit, but when I took the cover off to wash it, the Velcro caught the fluff and frayed it. The fray is about 1” long, and a 1/4” deep.

mcparsley The carrier has been on one long road trip and four flights. Apart from the fray on the cover, it’s in otherwise perfect condition, my dog has just outgrown it.
