Unique Lariat Style Necklace

Vintage 30s Victorian Revival Gold tone brass book chain necklace with lariat-like style front closure. Cameo style front. Could be a saint /Jesus but not sure. Was my grandmother’s who was very religious and had other religious jewelry. Clasp works just fine. Total length when open (not counting part that hangs down) 17”.
