Vintage (40s or 50s) Escort brown reptile leather handbag

Amazing find: this genuine reptile leather brown structured bag from Escort was manufactured in the 40s and 50s. Reptile leathers were more prevalent in the 40s (due to the war effort and rationing), so I’m leaning toward dating this in the mid-40s. This bag is semi-rigid and very structured, with gold-tone hardware and a clasp closure. One interior compartment with one zippered pocket. This bag is in remarkable good shape with very little visible wear. The strap is slightly warped from storage, but without cracks, scratches, or marks. All hardware is functional and present, but there is expected wear on the clasp and light scratching on ends of top hardware. The zipper pocket liner interior is discolored and stained, with minimal discoloration visible from the main compartment. The bottom of the bag has three small dings and one spot of edge wear.
