Hi! I really love this piece and hope you’d reconsider my offer, it’s the best I can do and it’ll also save the dress from having to be shipped to the poshmark authenticators warehouse. Any poshmark purchase $500 and over has to be authenticated and it can take up to two weeks before they release it to be shipped to me once that’s been done. Kind regards, Brendan

@princebp1 It is an absolutely beautiful dress that was worn by my grandmother in probably the 1960s. Looking at your site, it looks as though you publish dresses for museum purposes. If you do not mind telling me a little about what you do? I know this dress is the real thing and is really a beautiful piece of history as far as styles.

@nmhanso oh! I love that it was worn by your grandmother and has stayed in your family! That’s the kind of history I love to know about when collecting vintage clothing. I am a fashion historian and collector living in Oklahoma. I’ve been interested in fashion my entire life. I actually started as a milliner. I began making hats when I was nine years old, after watching the film Titanic, and I slowly turned that into a way to earn money until I was 20.

@nmhanso Then I got deeply interested in actual antique clothing from the 1800s through the 1910s. I sourced any affordable pieces that I could come across and that began the collection. I eventually started collecting from other decades and now my collection spans the 18th century through modern day. My collection is kept at my grandmothers house and bless her for putting up with the racks and racks of clothing and accessories that I’ve accumulated.

@nmhanso It’s taken over her entire house until I can find a good climate controlled storage facility. My hopes for the collection are to possibly open it to designers for inspiration or fashion school students who may not have access to an archive of vintage clothing. I’m also thinking of renting some of my clothing to the growing film production business that is booming right now in Oklahoma City if the opportunity arises! I have lots of dreams for the collection.

@nmhanso It takes a lot of work to maintain everything because I do want to make sure they last well into the future, long after I’m gone. My main focus right now is preservation.

@princebp1 I just love what you are doing! You are going to love this gown. I believe my grandmother wore it to holiday parties around Christmas. Dress is just so beautiful. Please keep in touch! I will mail the dress today. Thank you for sharing all of your plans and you have my best wishes. Warmly, Natalie
