Cult label BIS by Gene Ewing Paris / Beverly Hills! Presenting a sexy Bohemian prairie style dress crafted from sumptuous velvet. This fabulous vintage 80’s dress is reminiscent of fashion from the Edwardian & Victorian eras. It also reminds me of a Gunne Sax dress with its high collar, poet’s sleeves, and defined bodice. The bodice is constructed from a quilted flocked floral fabric of deep grayish purple color. The bodice is triangular shaped and is framed with accordion pleats that form a ruffle. The ruffle motif is repeated at the cuffs of the flowing long sleeves. A button keeps the cuffs secure. The dress drapes and has a ruffled accent that acts as a visual drop waist. The edge of the dress is trimmed withh the same style ruffle. The velvet is thick and luxurious! It’s is a deep maroon mixed with aubergine. The dress slips over the head; there are no zippers. There are two velvet buttons at the back of the high neckline. Condition: great vintage condition with some areas of discoloration. There is a an area along the bottom front that is more shiny; I suspect it is a result of being ironed? Sold as-is. Very rare!
