exe Shoes 40 (8.5 to 9?) Black Faux (?) Leather Chunky Platform Loafer Oxford

Reposhing this item. I LOVE LOVE LOVE these shoes! However, although I'm a reliable 9.5, these size 40 loafers do not fit. *sad* I can get them on, but there is no toe room. I'm guessing they are more like a size 8.5 or 9. These were listed as faux leather, but most exe shoes I find online are genuine leather. I just cannot tell for sure. Any questions?
