My name's Ashley. I shop here almost exclusively, so very appreciative of Poshmark as it has been a great way for me to tailor my closet for less! I share monochrome items b/c it is a better reflection of my style unlike what I currently have for sale. A goal of mine is to overhaul my closet with investment pieces, say like Rick Owens, Ann Demeulemeester, Yohji Yamamoto, etc. but animal-free. A challenge w/ such brands, but the goal. Thanks for sharing or shopping. Every bit really helps.

nomoreshines Didn't have much space to rattle off a few more things: while my home is smoke free, I do have a furry companion called Willow 😊 I keep what I have listed separated from her to the best of my abilities. Also, I am not always able to ship same or next day since I ride public transit; my typical range is 1-3 days. Lastly, I do not own a full length mirror (I know, I know), so some garments are more difficult to model than others. Working on that! Many thanks for patience and understanding

nomoreshines 😭 I needed somewhere to lament that a Margiela dress and Ann D. pants just sold, both for prices extremely in my budget. Many sellers of the designer pieces I like are so obliging, but I haven't tested sending in my measly offers as I get so hung up on the orig. value of the items and not wanting to offend. I am actually sad, which kind of makes me laugh (b/c why get hung up on something as 'trivial' as clothing) but... ARGH. Laugh at my pain, lmao

nomoreshines It makes me think: I need to be more agreeable with how much I sell my stuff for because, really, it's just fast fashion items. If someone can buy high end things for a mere percentage of their RP (say $30 for an item that retails at $450) and I'm listing 'trendy' clothing for that same dollar amount... Says a lot. I feel one in the same as the commercial retailers I'm trying to part with.

nomoreshines But then, I also have to consider that, despite what the items I'm selling are actually worth, I did spend my money on them. So then, is it really problematic to try to recoup that? Especially considering that what I want to wear is not always going to be bargain priced.

dark_out_here Wow you sound just like me! Totally the same in terms of what I share/shop for vs what I'm selling, same thoughts about selling price (some days I accept offers other days I don't then regret it). I've been moving much more towards high end and handmade (do you know ovate?) and pretty much exclusively black. I'll be following you for your shares!

stealsthings I'm in the same process too of pairing my closet down! I used to buy colorful items in hopes that I would wear them but always end up wearing the same black, white, gray with occasional red and blue items, haha. Also, cute puppy you have there! 🐶💞 Good luck Poshing!

I take some comfort from the fact that buying here means less wasted resources. . .maybe just a teeny dent, but I have to believe it counts for something. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

nomoreshines @styleimperative Can't lie, but before I completely stopped shopping F21, H&M and the like, I did transition to purchasing it on here for a spell. Justified it because most of the garments I bought were for summer (least fave season) or internship, which are temporary phases, so no need for substantial clothing. It's a far cry from having those retailers' sites as a home page and browsing everyday, you know? What you're doing definitely makes a difference. Thank you for commenting!
