vintage wool shawl or table cover in hand-embroidered orange, peach, black

This gorgeous shawl is perfectly colored for any season. Well done crewel embroidery features twining vines and flowers in shades of orange, coral, apricot, peach, on a true black background. It is 100% wool. If you don't need a shawl, it looks terrific draped over a table or hanging on a wall. This style was popular from the Edwardian era onward, with peak fashion perhaps in the 1920s to 1930s. I am not entirely sure of the age of this one, given what great condition it's in. It might well be younger, but it is definitely vintage. I purchased it with a number of old textiles from the Victorian era to the 1940s. Condition: excellent vintage. There are no moth holes (or other holes), just a couple of spots where a thread got slightly snagged and then restored. The back is as pretty as the front, as you can see in photo #3!
