This is a beautiful antique cast iron inkwell, complete with pressed glass insert and lid. Made by Connecticut’s Peck, Stow & Wilcox Company circa 1877, it’s in overall very good condition with no breaks or repairs.
Stand measures 4″ x 3-1/2″ x 5″, and has ornate decoration. Top shows a stork with places for 3 pens; bottom stand has 4 feet on the base and elegant rising sun motif.Pressed glass ink bottle has elegant square shape, and measures 2″ square. On the bottom the impressed words “PS&W co. Pat Dec 11, 77” appears. Glass is smooth, no chips.
Lid is secure and fits beautifully.
This piece is heavy and extremely well made! Beautiful addition for any collector.
