This is a very old Victorian style iron and wood footstool. I believe it is from the late 1800s or early 1900s. I also believe that it originally had 4 legs but that at some point over the course of its long life one of the legs broke and someone reconfigured it to be a 3 legged stool. It is a super cool piece and would be perfect for use as designed or in a centerpiece or on a table top displaying a crown or tiara or as a plant riser. The legs are a bronze color with hints of gold peaking through. The wood is a dull gold color from age and the tapestry style fabric is also a dull goldish brown color. I love the charm this has as it is with all of its perfectly imperfect aged characteristics, but it would also be stunning if restored.
It measures approximately 7.5” tall and 11.5” in diameter.
The stool has some dents and dings in the wood as well as paint wear from use and age. The upholstery is in decent condition with no visible holes, pulls, or tears but it does have a little discoloration and fading which may be less noticeable if cleaned. One of the upholstery nailheads is missing the dome. Please review the listing photos and video and zoom in for better details as these also serve as part of the description and will help you make your own assessment of the items condition before purchasing.
****This is from my parent’s Vermont home built in the late 18th century and is vintage, used in another era and will show signs of wear appropriate to its age.****
