The date was September 25, 1956 & Elvis was asked to perform in his home town at the Mississippi-Alabama Fair & Dairy show. The governor of Mississippi came to Tupelo to officially decree "Elvis Presley Day". Contingents of the National Guard, Highway Patrol, & local police were needed to restrain the near-hysterical crowds. Some fainted, while others wept uncontrollably & some breached the stage to embrace & get a "piece" of the young King of rock-&-roll. Notice how well the artist, Bruce Emmett, captures Elvis's famous crooked, sneering, grin, as he teases his fans! ๐ This plate was purchased in 1991 from the Bradford Exchange & is the 4th issue in the historic Elvis Presley: In Performance collection. It is issued by Delphi & officially endorsed by the Elvis Presley Estate. It is a limited edition strictly limited to a maximum firing schedule of 150 days.
It will come with an informative brochure about the event that it depicts, as well as, a certificate of authenticity endorsed by the artist, publisher, & Elvis Presley Estate. It is plate # 1085C. All plates are ringed in shiny gold platinum & made of porcelain. Super GREAT idea for Elvis fans & collector's!๐ From a smoke & pet hair free home.
