tiffcake Before and after collage pics Fixing your shoes prior to selling increases the price folks are willing to pay for them. Sometimes it doesn't cost you anything to fix them so it's money in your pocket! Please don't post pics with foot grime inside--that's a huge turnoff for a buyer even though it costs nothing to remedy. Even black marks on patent can be removed! Take care of your shoes and they'll last a long time--clean, condition, polish, love!

tiffcake @fashion_victim9 saw you on a another post for authentication--I've removed transfer on patent using CRAPTONS of effort and Vaseline on a qtip or face pad. Takes up to 30 minutes. It's just like you said--if it's on the surface you can buff it out but if underneath, I don't know if a successful method, just like you said. This is a pair where I removed the marks from patent with vaseline

fashion_victim9 @tiffcake hi! thanks for sharing. I know some spots can be removed, but most of them can't, and I tried a lot of methods as well as my cobbler. you're right, it depends on the nature of these spots and also their age. and it's important to keep away light patent shoes from anything dark, these spots appear very easily:( I once even noticed red spots on white shoes just because they were kept in red dust bag for a couple of months. light patent is my pain:)

tiffcake @fashion_victim9 I have fluorescent yellow and pink Ruthie Davis spikettes with the bad kind of transfer on the patent that can't be removed. From touching another pair on display. Not rubbing, just being next to each other. Its worst with fluo patent bc of the contrast & bc it blocks light from reflecting behind the pigment so it ALSO loses its brightness :(

tiffcake @norcalcloset I also use tinted polishes to keep my leathers looking rich and minimizing scratches. I have a crapton of shoes so it's lots of work for me to keep them all conditioned but I truly enjoy it. They last a realllllllllly long time when you take care of them :)

tiffcake I'm good with leather and exotics, ok with patent and suede. I struggle the most with fabric shoes! They just don't have the same longevity and are much harder to maintain!

tiffcake @beibei74 I wondered what happened! I hope nothing sad. I keep my closet on vacation permanently bc I disagree with posh's lack of enforcement for lots of things. I've been trying to get a porn link removed for weeks & they just won't do it. The way they treat good sellers/buyers & profit from fakes is appalling so the porn was the last nail in the coffin for me. I've been watching your shoes on eBay!!! 😘 I have to sell some to make room to bring home more :(

beibei74 @tiffcake I have no clue why I'm unable to sell or buy right now.. I was emailed a notice of my account having been restricted.. and no explanation. Maybe someone reported me who I called out for something? I don't know. Anyway.. I'm just gonna stick to eBay for now :) hope you're well.

tiffcake @beibei74 that's insane... I'm sorry to hear it. I don't ever see you entangled on fake listings so I'm quite shocked to hear the news. I like the posh friends, but I prefer to buy/sell eBay myself. Do you have your own account also or do you only sell under your boyfriend's on eBay? I'll follow you guys so I get alerts :)

beibei74 @tiffcake thanks. I don't know why and now that it's happened.. Oh well, it's ok, I'm not too bothered by it. I only have my bfs Ebay account and my moms.. But I can only lost five on hers and she's got a 500$ limit. The bf account has a higher limit so I'm mainly on that one. Good night :)

beibei74 @tiffcake posh sent me an email saying that they didn't freeze my account.. my account has been compromised. I've been calling my bank and cc. Hopefully posh will heighten their security. Sucks :(

tiffcake @nblevy5 @vitazb I remove scuffs from patent using those little lip balm pots of Vaseline—it takes lots of patience but it’s totally safe & when done the shoes will be really shiny after you wipe them down. I had a bunch of little parallel white marks on black patent shown in the last pic that cleaned right up. Way bigger than the tiny spot you guys were discussing (saw the pic in my feed & thought I could help)
