Beautiful, unique, handmade. A comfortable boot, even for everyday wear. These were the second pair I bought, after I wore the first ones to death! Unfortunately, I don’t do round-toe shoes anymore. These have seen very little wear and have a TON of life left. True to size. Handmade in Southern California with vegetable-tanned leather, sculpted with leather soles that mold to the foot for comfort.

caralaughs @greengypsy74 Hello! I apologize for my late response. I’ll get measurements up tonight.

caralaughs @greengypsy74 These are about 12.5” tall and about 14.5” at the widest. Apart from the side zipper, the metal buttons on the front are functional. There is an elastic loop that slips over each.

afbrownwood What is the size it says on the bottom? 38 or 39 or 38 1/2?

jakicanterbury would you say these run true to size or narrow or? I understand the vintage line runs slightly smaller and cant afford to get this wrong. Thanks!

caralaughs @jakicanterbury Hi! I wear 8.5. Unless it’s a pointed toe, in which I typically wear a 9, since I don’t have narrow feet. These boots are true to size. This was the second pair, in this style. My first became my everyday shoe, at a time when I walked to work. A testament to their comfort. I just ended up eventually buying another pair instead of having them resoled. Sorry for such a long response but I hope I was able to address your concerns. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

jakicanterbury @caralaughs. I just traced my foot. 9.5 inches long x 4inches at the widest part. Are you able to trace your foot too? That would make the best match right? Merry Chriatmas!

caralaughs
caralaughs @jakicanterbury Alright, so my trace measures at about 9 5/8” long and 3.75” wide. The Mountain isn’t part of their vintage collection so the width is average and the sizing guide on Cydwoq’s site talks about stretching and molding to one’s feet.

caralaughs @jakicanterbury Don’t get me wrong, tho. I fully understand the anxiety that comes with not being able to try on before paying any some of money. At the risk of going outside policy, I do run an Etsy shop, where I sell my handmade things. If returning/refunding is a concern, it’s possible there. And there’s still the peace of mind purchasing thru a reputable site.

jakicanterbury @caralaughs Sweet, I'm in with that option available to me. I have been buying and returning boots for because of size on line foe 3 months. I am trulu between sizes but my last pair of cydwoqs were too long at 39 so.......🤪🤔 I was living in SF in 2019 for a few months-working. I'm in/from Monterey and my guy lives in Hayward. Your etsy sight is super fun. I own a bricknmortar and website called slowfiber. Check it out at www.slowfiber.com. I hope Christmas was good for you.

caralaughs @jakicanterbury Thank you! Xmas was quiet successful ironing out the last kinks in my new coffin wallet design/pattern. I hope yours was also a good one. If you send me a message on Etsy, I will create a custom listing for you. We can discuss a return policy for you, as well. My shop doesn’t accept them, in general. I just want to make sure it’s clear in your listing so we both feel good about it.

jakicanterbury had a thought.... I have a pair of italian leather very pointy buckly boots you might want to see. You mentioned not doing round toes any more.....these are getting very little play in my closet right now and we have the same size feet.....wanna see, we could work in some trade?

caralaughs @jakicanterbury awesome! I’ll head over there. Etsy can be super dangerous... I’ve lost a LOT of time window-shopping on the app. So many goodies to see. It’s unfortunate, sifting thru the production partner “handmade” loophole crap. But there is still plenty of real small businesses and makers to find.
