Classic style in an unusual 2 color woven pattern with bands of thin silver woven into wider gold metal bands. Top is a beautiful mahogany red (root beer) color lucite with a matching shaped swing handle. The handle has gold cap ends and attached with little round gold eyelets on the top -very unusual. The clasp is a refined hook closure with a little knob on the decorative escutcheon. Inside is lined in dusty rose pink satin and stamped in gold, “ Dorset Rex/ FIFTH AVENUE/Design Pat Pend”. The bottom has 4 ball feet pressed through the metal band and is stamped, “U.S. Pat 24668..” Long hinge keeps the lid stable and is attached with decorative brass rivets on the lid and the back. Size: Just right medium size at 9” x 4” x 3 1/4” tall, Handle has a 4” drop. Condition: Great vintage, used condition, Rose satin lining has a light stain (please see pictures) and some slight discoloration.
