SIZE 1 X or XL I make upcycled garments from bits and bobs of clothing and fabric. This pair of EXTRA LARGE cropped pantaloons is made from a base garment of 100% linen. I have added hand cut and machine sewn scraps of shabby fabrics, patches and shabby trim. Drawstring, elastic waist. Front side pockets and back patch pockets. This can be worn as pants or under a skirt or dress. After sewing was completed I dyed the garment, rinsed well and line dried it. Hand washing and line drying is recommended. Machine washing (cold, gentle) will encourage faster fraying, though, which I LOVE. The entire garment has a subtle mottled and very vintage finish, as if you just pulled them from your great grandmother’s trunk hidden in the attic. The garment is designed to fray a bit around the patches and the edges of the ruffles over time, wash and wear. Designed for comfort and style while maintaining a “homespun” aesthetic. I purposefully create cottage style garments w/out the use of industrial equipment to ensure a handmade feel. I have industrial sewing machines that I use for creating other styles of garments, but these garments are intentionally made to look and feel vintage. There are patches BEHIND the ruffles that will become more visible as you wash and wear these. I distressed the individual panels that comprise the ruffles at the cuffs. These are not Magnolia Pearl.
