Faberge 88 "Sunburst" Egg Pendant in Soft Translucent Green by "H.W." Wigstrom

Rare "Sunburst" guilloche enameled Russian Imperial egg pendant in rare Soft Translucent "Apple" Green. Excellent condition, marked on the bail with H.W. for Henrik Wigstrom[1] and 88 for 916 Silver fineness. There's not many of these out there in this color and combined with the "Sunburst" pattern this is a real treat to look at. The translucent green enamel looks thin and then when you turn it just a little bit you see that it's not, it's that translucent and that is the case with many of Faberge's enamels. He is most famous for the legendary Imperial eggs that were created for the last two reigning Russian Tsars but Mr. Faberge and the hundreds of Russian masters and their apprentices that he employed or commissioned did so much more. Very few jewelers can even hope to replicate this kind of work. A Mr. Ananov is one of the few jewelers working today that I can honestly say would be in the same class.
